Isak’s Update

February 2025, the second month of my illuminate adventure, has been full of excitement and rewards.

I have had the privilege of teaching some RE lessons at Archway, sessions in the Tin Church  (Paganhill) continue to draw in many young people, the curious questions lunch time group is organically growing and providing a safe space for young people in Archway to explore big life questions, and most excitedly we took a group of 16 young people on a residential to The Rock UK Summit Centre in Cardiff.

 

A fun time was had by all. The amazing young people pushed themselves throughout, trying out different outdoor activities.

 

Young person A Said: I don’t feel so claustrophobic after doing the caving and rock climbing. I got right to the top!

 

Young person B said: I had a great time at Summit, in my group everyone was friendly and supportive making each activity fun. My personal favourite was the climbing (probably because it’s the most challenging and rewarding for me) Both the group talks brought something different to the table and I also found the early morning prayer sessions helpful to share our praises for the previous day and requests for the coming day and just spending time in God’s presence.Isak continues: at the end of the two days I had the opportunity to share a reflective message with the young people. Offering them an opportunity to respond with a desire to explore more about faith and incredibly 6 young people responded. Praise God!
